Respirator fit and fit testing Content
First Aid Connect’s N95 Mask Fit Testing is built on the program standard and procedures of 3M (the respirator mask manufacturer), the Ontario Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Labour. We follow all the guidelines laid out by the Canadian Standards Association and the National Institute of Health and Safety.
We fit test for each person in compliance with provincial health directives. We currently provide one on one testing at our convenient location in the east end of Ottawa (out of our Belfast Road Location). OSHA requires qualitative or quantitative fit testing before a user wears a mandatory respirator on the job, and must be assessed at least annually.

Mask Fit Duration
Standard First Aid & CPR / AED Level C is a blended course with 4 – 6 hours of online knowledge training and 6 – 7 hours of in class skills training. This means that the in-class portion is a 1 day training session. Once a participant registers for the class, an email will be sent with information regarding the online portion. This portion needs to be completed prior to the in-person date chosen for the class.
Certificate
Upon successful completion of both the online and in-class portion, all participants will receive a Standard First Aid & CPR / AED Level C Canadian Red Cross certification valid for 3 years.
